Installation / Final Connections

AmeriPod bathrooms are plug-and-play units, which makes installation similar to hooking up a major appliance. Rough-In, placement, & final connections are all that is required to make AmeriPod bathrooms a fully integrated part of your building.

Step 1: AmeriPod will provide a custom template for coring the necessary floor penetrations. This template is a quick and extremely accurate way to determine where coring locations will be needed to install the bathroom pod. AmeriPod will train the on-site construction team to properly use this template so that this prep work can begin before the first set of PODS arrive on site.

Step 2: Plumbing risers, mechanical risers, & walls are all constructed in typical fashion. On the floor below the cored holes, waste pipes are hung in place to prepare for pod connection. Ground floor units will be hooked up in the same fashion, only the piping will be sleeved to allow for final adjustments similar to convention construction. Interior walls, including fire-rated partitions, are built as usual and left open for building inspections. Once inspections are completed, if there are fire-rated partitions adjacent to the bathroom pod, they will need to be completed the same as in conventional construction, only out of sequence.

Step 3: AmeriPod bathrooms are now ready to be set in place. A clean and clear path must be provided to allow for pod placement. The bathroom packaging is removed and the pod is moved into its final location where cores have already been made. AmeriPod will provide all moving equipment required for installation and will be on-site for any training necessary.

Step 4: Once the bathroom is set, it is connected to the waste lines from the floor below. Once connections are established, the pod door will be closed and locked preventing any damage to interior finishes or tile so that once the project is complete, the pod door can be unlocked and ready for use by the client.

Step 5: All remaining plumbing, HVAC, and electrical hook-ups are made outside of the pod according to the site construction schedule.

Finishing The Exterior

AmeriPod bathrooms are shot and secured to the slab the same way that conventional wall track is installed. The exterior of the pod is then sheetrocked and taped like any other drywall product on the project.
